Jo Heide
3rd Grade Teacher
Jo Heide holds Bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and Teaching English as a Second Language, as well as a Master’s degree in Education with a focus on Natural Science and Environmental Education. This is Jo’s ninth year as a classroom teacher and her second year teaching third grade at Marine Village School. She has previously taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grades.
Jo lives in White Bear Lake with her husband, Donavan, and their two young children. As a family, they love exploring the outdoors, reading together, and especially enjoying trips to Lake Superior.
Jo’s teaching style centers on project-based, outdoor, and hands-on learning. She loves read-alouds and collaborative discussions and is passionate about helping students develop self-advocacy skills that will serve them both in the classroom and beyond.
